Sharing Session Between FIT Members and Counselor

Counseling Unit, Student Affairs Division (STAD) would like to inform that a sharing session will be organized with Faculty of Information Technology (FIT), MMU Cyberjaya Campus. Details as below

Date : 18th August 2010 (Wednesday)

The aim of the session is
1. To give basic counseling knowledge to all lecturers
2. To train lecturers in handling student issues according to counseling guidelines
3. To instill awareness among lecturers on students behaviour.
4. To provide a platform for the counselors and lecturers to discuss over common issues on student psychological problem.

FRIENDs Training Program 1/2010

On 14th August 2010, 8.30 am at meeting room, Level 1, STC Building, Counseling Unit, STAD had organized FRIENDs Training Program. About 14 Friends participated in the event which included 2 practical counselor from UPM. The main objective of the program was to educate students to understand their own self and how by using their personal strength could encouraged others to lead a healthy lifestyle during studies. This was due to the fact that through globalization process of numerous of lifestyles to choose nowdays, students seem to end-up in negative activities such as alcoholism, drug abuse and others. Thus, this wold effect their studies, create negative social implications and many more. Among activities conducted were psychological test, group dynamics, interaction discussion and others. It is part of their training to equipped them with helping skills, so that can be used during 'reaching out' others in campus.
