Pre-Internship student from USIM at Counseling Unit, STAD - 31/5/2010 till 20/6/2010

Dear all,

Counseling Unit, STAD would like inform that a final year students taking degree in counseling from Islamic Science University of Malaysia (USIM) a public university in the country is having pre-internship program at the Unit from 31/5/2010 till 20/6/2010. Join us a MMU Peers Now!

Dear all, Counseling Unit, STAD would like inform that, MMU Peers will be established. Thus, if interested, you may apply. Details as below :

Requirements
1. alpha or beta students and others
2. good academic background
3. Like to help others and willing to learn new things
4. stable personality traits
5. positive thinking and attitude
6. stable personal lifestyle

If you are the one we are looking for, please fill-up the form attached and send to us through email : counseling.unit@gmail.com before 6 June 2010.

The candidates will be interviewed from 7 June till 13 June 2010. Those successfully selected, will be trained as MMU Peers through series of workshops and programs. After completion, certificate as MMU Peers will be given.

The function of MMU Peers as below
1.To help other students sort out concerns, brainstorm ideas, provide guidance and help to identify whether the students need to be referred to counselor.
2.To conduct and organize programmes that contribute to the development of MMU students. 3.To provide the peer counseling services at hostel level.
4.To assist the Counseling Unit, STAD in identifying proactive measures that can be taken in providing effective and efficient services.

CAP Activites in MMU, Cyberjaya Campus

Cultural Awareness Program (CAP) activities conducted in MMU, Cyberjaya Campus on 22 May 2010, 8.30 am till 5.00 pm. They were taught about malaysian cultures such as doing kolam (Indian), making ketupat (Malay) and also several activities. The closing ceremony officiated by Mr Omaruddin, Manager STAD. It is our hope the program has enable them to understand each other better. At the same time, they are prepared mentally, emotionally and physically to face new campus life through their study in this country.

CAP participants Visit to Galeri Keris, Malaysian Tourism Infomation Centre (MATIC) & KLCC

On 20th May 2010, 9.00 am -5.00 pm, Cultural Awareness Program (CAP) participants had visited Galeri Keris at Gombak, Malaysian Tourism Infomation Centre, Jln Ampang, Kuala Lumpur & KLCC today.

The objective of the program is to expose newly international students about malaysia culture and provide more information about interesting places they can go during their study in this country. It is also hope, this program can strengthen the relationship established among each other and STAD's staffs

Briefing & Ice-breaking session in CAP 2010

Student Affairs Division (STAD) conducted the briefing and ice-breaking activities in Cultural Awareness Program (CAP) II - June Intake 2010 after their registration. Details as below :

CCURs in 6th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) 2010



Career Counseling Unit Representatives (CCURs) had the opportunity to attend the 6th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) Young Leaders Session on 20 May 2010, 8.00 am -5.00 pm at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). 6th WIEF was officiated by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia. The program had gave a oppourtunity to the students to increase knowledge about current issue faced by youth, develop new networking with others and gain new experiences from others through sharing session with promiment leaders from corporate sectors and others.
